In 2015, I took a trip to Phuket, Thailand. Here is when I discovered blogging and personal development for myself.
Frustrated with my career, I’ve spent much of my time looking for something new.
At the time, I didn’t have many options in the jobs I could take.
My military background is in air conditioning repair. Feeling burnt out from spending years fixing air conditioning units in some of the hottest places on earth, I was ready to do something different.
During my Air Force career, the travel bug bit me. My first overseas travel experience was in Sicily, Italy…
The best part of waking up in the morning is to a fresh pot of coffee. Why does that sound somewhat familiar? Anyway, it’s no secret coffee has plenty of health benefits, but some people believe coffee is bad for you.
The results of coffee consumption depend on several factors. Primarily how and when we partake this blessing in a mug. Also, many studies that result in negative effects of this caffeinated goodness don’t take into account other habits such as smokers.
Coffee helps reduce the risk of:
Like anything else, if…
At the moment, the United States is still waiting to find out who is going to be President come January. While we’re all sitting on the edge of our seats, I had a strange feeling inside myself. As if my soul is trying to hint at something.
What I’m feeling is peace, but also a realization of the truth about what’s going on. It’s like God is trying to reveal to me the importance of what I’m experiencing.
God isn’t literally telling me anything, as if another human was talking directly to me. If I could describe this feeling vibrating…
This is how I feel when reading various content recently. Regardless of the topic, there isn’t any news worth reading and watching. The media is full of repackaged COVID-19 and election information. Self-development articles either share cookie-cutter advice you can recite in your sleep, or they shame you for not being a workaholic. In entertainment, someone is always getting canceled over issues that are usually irrelevant to the individuals doing the canceling.
Seeing this mess every day makes me want to gouge my eyes out.
What is the point of continuing to feel upset by a President who consistently spews…
A fellow Medium writer and I recently left a comment about an article on CNN’s tweet.
With the release of Xbox Series X/S and the PlayStation 5 just weeks away, Microsoft and Sony hijacked most of gaming news media. Atari, creators of the old school 2600, is doing its best Phoenix impression subtly.
Atari is rising up from the ashes by taking on three projects. One of them — you would have guessed — is a new console. The other two projects seem like a dream from the 1980s. Atari is working with Bitcoin on creating cryptocurrency for its new console and about to become a hotel chain.
VCS is the name…
The most common success advice is to “work hard”. You see it everywhere, YouTube, self-development blogs, and self-help books. I’ve heard it so much it makes me want to vomit every time someone repeats it.
Hard work alone will not get you where you want to be in life. If you study successful people in their fields, their paths to success were different.
Success isn’t a linear path.
Taking consistent action, networking with the right people, and believing in yourself is vague, cookie-cutter advice.
Individuals who achieve massive success…
“I want to write, but I don’t know what to talk about.”
This is a thought I’ve been practicing for months. Even when I’m writing in my journal, I struggle to get words on paper.
Can you relate?
Some people have issues with imposter syndrome, others with being a perfectionist. For me, finding something to talk about has racked my brain.
I’ve read a few articles about finding ideas, but nothing worked.
It wasn’t until recently I noticed what my real problem was. The issue wasn’t that I lack creativity or my life isn’t interesting enough to talk about.
Are you the type of person who reveals your emotions easily to others?
This trait is both a blessing and a curse.
Maybe you’ve experienced plenty of heartache from previous romantic relationships. Previous partners might have taken your heart for granted or manipulated you. An unpleasant feeling develops inside with every reminder of this person’s existence.
In the workplace, showing emotions is a traditional no-no. Your place of employment is for business, not sharing feelings. At least, that’s what most people assume when they punch the clock to start their shift.
Jumping to these conclusions can direct you to go…
Have you heard of the joke of why you never see Lamborghini commercials on television?
If you have, you might not find the punchline funny. Then again, if you own a Lamborghini you might get a chuckle from it.
You never see Lamborghini commercials because most people who can afford them don’t watch television.
“There is no success without sacrifice.”― Tonic Motihala
The point I want to make isn’t so much about being rich, but it has more to do with achieving success.
As you know, success has a different meaning for everybody.
It doesn’t matter how you…
